Racist Cable News Networks? by Q. Reyes – Artistic Warfare #41

Being busier means that I have less time to watch the news, as of lately. This has had a great impact on my well-being and I find myself happier than ever. I have no clue as to what’s going in the world right now, and I feel healthy and relaxed.
I used to be addicted to CNN, MSNBC and all those cable news channels. I watched them all day long, and even if I were doing something else they’d be playing on the background. I have no idea how this habit started, but I didn’t see how bad it was until now that it’s gone.
Those channels sensationalize the news, and they have character actors playing reporters and they squeeze as much time out of a negative story as they can. Don’t let a little White child go missing, because they’ll organize and try to find him or her ASAP. Yet, many minority kids go missing everyday and no one knows or cares. That’s why those channels are borderline racist, if not full-blown.
There are news commentators that are straight forward, like the Rush Limbaugh’s of the world. They’ll tell you that they hate you to your face using carefully chosen words to hide their true meaning. On contrary, these cable outlets will hate you and make you think they love you. It’s all hype.
Besides, the majority of advertisers on these networks doesn’t want or need the minority dollar. Most companies that advertise on these networks are peddling products for the “red blooded American’s” market, if you catch my drift.
I have a bigger beef with the cable news networks than with the ignorant local news. The local news are hacks trying to stay relevant in a world where people get their information more accurately and faster on the Internet. The local news will be going by the way of the newspapers very shortly.
The reason I think the cable news channels are more evil is because they’re a bigger machine operating on a grander scale, while the local news only use fear tactics to retain viewership. “YOU WILL DIE! Find out how, at eleven.” They hardly ever have a positive story, and when they do is stupid enough to be considered negative.
Yet, the cable news channels have an agenda that reaches deeper. They go into major manipulations and influence borderline propaganda. People believe these media outlets and take actions based on information provided by them. How many people sell or buy investments based on the market predictions of these outlets?
So next time you see a White-pageant-contestant-child being reported missing on these cable news networks, just remember that there’s a Latino or Black little kid missing somewhere as well, and his or her parents are as devastated as the White parents. It’s not a racial issue; it’s a fairness issue.
