During this series about my latest business venture, my progress has been similar to the different traffic cycles in L.A. There are spurts that I feel stuck on my way to a destination, and other times the progress flows effortlessly like a breezy Sunday morning riding down the beach lined PCH.

I’ve officially set the date for my launch party and secured catering and the location. The event will take place November 15th. That is exactly 1 month away!

1 month!

There is so much to do to make sure all my ducks are lined up, all my I’s dotted and my T’s cross, and most importantly that my debut meets my high expectations and standards for excellence. It’s enough to make anyone feel a little crazy. But I’ve come to learn anytime you focus in too close on anything, it’s easy to lose sight of the big picture.

When I really reflect, overall I’m doing good. Next week I’m working on my corporate identity and prepping my “product” for my marketing materials. I’ve had a few meetings this week with my first clients in my new office, I’ve established professional alliances, and I’m finalizing my timeline and goals for the upcoming year.

A new venture is exciting and a great learning experience. A very comforting notion I learned early on was that as new and difficult a situation feels, there already been plenty of people before me and after me that have dealt with the same issue. As the motto goes, “Each one, teach one,” what are some tips or stories you’ve learned while stating a new venture?
