Dear Art,
One hundred columns, what are you Ann Landers? Who do you think still cares what you have to say? Why won’t you shut up already? I bet half of these letters aren’t even real! You make me wish that the following things were never invented: Michael Davis World, the Internet, computers, and words. When will you quit?

Sir,
Thank you for pointing out that this is the one hundredth edition of Pop Art. What a long strange trip it’s been huh? I know it might seem like I do all this myself but really it’s an incredible effort by a lot of people. I would like to take the time to recognize some of those people now.
First and foremost thanks to Michael Davis for giving me the opportunity. Without him I would be just another crank with a blog. Now I get to be a crank on a website. A website that I share with immensely talented people. It is an honor to be counted among them. No thanking of the MOTU would be complete without thanking Tatiana, who puts up with my chronic lateness; this column is late right now.
I want to thank the people in my life who pay more attention to the news than I do. I don’t pay attention to celebrity news; I’ve never read a gossip column. If it weren’t for my friends and family, particularly my mother, I would never come up with decent topics. The archives would be 99 near-identical political rants and the one about GM being shitty. Actually probably a few more on GM as my Pontiac needed to be serviced four times before hitting 10,000 miles.
Thanks to the Tea Party movement for making it fun to mock Republicans again. Thanks to drugs and alcohol for bringing so many celebrities crashing down to earth. Thanks to Los Angeles for so frequently making me mad enough to be mean to strangers. Thanks to Hollywood for putting out oh so much contemptible media. Thanks to NBC for airing the vast majority of said media. Thanks to the recession for occasionally letting me show off my economics degree. Thanks to anyone who ever left a comment. Even more thanks to everyone who didn’t expect me to reply.
Oh, and thanks to Chris. I don’t know exactly how many of these we did together but, buddy, I assure you it felt like a lifetime.

One of my favorite things to do every week read your articles. I LOVE the way you write and it’s only a matter of time before we figure out something to work on together. It’s my pleasure to have you in the small but tight MDW family, and thank YOU, Art.

Congrats on your 100th post! It’s a pleasure working with you and reading your musings.
I’m looking forward 100 more! That and another MDW trip to Disneyland. A girl can only dream! 🙂
