Bitch Do What I Say Or I’ll Kill You, by Michael Davis – Straight No Chaser #269 | @MDWorld

That’s not just a jazzy title that’s what my stepfather said before he hit my mother in the head with my Christmas gift.
My Christmas gift that year was a Tonka truck. This was back in the day when Tonka’s were made out of METAL.
“I’ll put a bullet in you.”
That’s what my sister’s ex-boyfriend said when he yanked her out of our apartment and put a gun to her head. Then he took her to the stairwell and beat her senseless.
“I’ll come and visit you in L.A.”
That’s what my beloved cousin Dee Dee said to me when we saw each other at my great grandmother’s funereal October 9, 1996.
She never made the trip and I’m sure I’ll never know why. She returned to her home after the funeral and has not been seen since.
My grandmother, killed.
My sister, killed.
I’ve got 5 more similar stories like the ones above but I’m crying like a 6 -year old girl while I’m writing this and frankly I just want to get to the end so I can find a fucking bottle of tequila and drink until I pass out.
I think it ‘s fair to say I know a bit about violence against women. Some would say I’m an expert.
House Republicans just passed a new version of the Violence Against Women Act. In this new version they deny protection to LEGAL immigrants, Native Americans or members of the LGBT community. Those protections were in previous versions of the bill-they took it out.
But-there’s good news!
If you happen to be a white woman born here who has the shit beat out of you while having a gun to your head the entire time, cheer up, the GOP has your back!
If you happen to be a white woman and your husband smashes your head with a METAL toy truck and once you are on the ground with blood gushing from your head he kicks you repeatedly while your two CHILDREN WATCH, rejoice! The GOP is in your corner!
If you walk out the door and are never seen again, sing a happy song (from where ever he buried you) because the GOP has your best interest at heart.
However if you don’t look like them, worship like them, love like them then you are FUCKED.
When I was a kid my favorite television weatherman was Tex Antoine. This guy was cool as shit. He always had something funny to say and he drew funny pictures during his reports I loved good old Tex. One day good old Tex’s weather report followed a horrible story about a 5 year old being raped.
Tex’s funny line that day was this; “If rape is inevitable, lie back and enjoy it.”
If Tex were still alive he would be Chairman of the Republican Party.

“I’ll beat you with my Motherfuckin’ fists”
OJ Simpson, in the background of a 911 call by Nicole some time before the end of the story.

The GOP and every other politician in America with the arguable exception of Cory Booker ain’t EVER gonna have anybody’s back. Look up “expediency” in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of Senator Jack S. Phogbound.
I thank the Republican Party. I thank them deeply, from the bottom of my heart. They have finally dealt the cards face-up, for all to see. They have finally come out and told gays, lesbians, people who were not born here regardless of their status, and the people we stole all this land from and then raped, tortured and slaughtered to go fuck themselves. Maybe they would, but now that the Republicans have had their way, why bother with sloppy seconds?
I’m waiting for the day when the Republicans of the individual states (“states rights!!!”) add “non-Christian” to these lists. According to Justice Scalia, that would be perfectly constitutional.
Learn to defend yourself from the enemy.
And in two-thirds of the nation, you can shoot first.

The depths of GOP stupidity is breathtaking. For a group that seems to be only concerned with their personal wealth, they don’t seem to know how to keep it rolling in. The assholes that currently give them money agree with this inhumane crap; but they are playing to a vanishing audience. So not only are they playing to a group with negative growth, they are going out of their way to attack everyone else. Who are they gonna steal their money from when the white middle class, mostly male, people willing to vote against their best interests have died off? They sure as he’ll ain’t gonna get any dough from the new majority.

“Tex’s funny line that day was this;” (hell, I can’t even copy and paste the line, it pisses me off so much)
I wanted to type something pithy and memorable, a Twitter-sized response to this, but I can’t. It’s just so… wrong.
And I don’t even have the power to vote these fuckers out of office. I’m busy wasting my vote trying to get our own brand of fuckers out.
