The last two months have been hard. They have been among the worst of my life, and given the kind of life I’ve lived, that’s saying something.

I’ve said this a bunch of times — I know good people. I think the people in my life are beyond being the salt of the earth.

Most people think I’m hard to take.

No, really.
What?

I’ve been thinking about the people in my life, and I’m amazed that I’m lucky enough to know the people I know.

Consider this — I’m still in touch with both my high school and college girlfriends, and not just in touch, they are just as close to me now as they were then…without the sex.

Damn it.

The crew I hung out with in high school are still just as important to me now as they were then. Most of them I haven’t seen in over 20 years. Yes Jean, I was 5 when I was in high school.

I can be a real dick but somehow the people in my life like me anyhow. Hey, I wouldn’t be friends with me if I were someone else.

What?

I know really great fucking people, and it’s the love of those people that have helped me stay positive over the last few months.

I almost lost it at one time but a dear, dear friend was there for me and helped keep me focused.

I feel I have an extended family in Baltimore, San Diego, Houston, the Bronx, Canada, Florida, Long Island, Connecticut, Beverly Hills, Hawaii and Russia.

Yeah, Russia.

My extended family have been in my corner and to them I just wanted to say thanks.
