You can't make this stuff up, so we don't!

Between, Facebook, blogs, twitter, television, radio, cell phones, text messaging, podcasts, Ipods, kindle and just plain ol’ folks talking, there are moments that I feel a tinge of information overload.  My cure is to walk around without any thing on (I don’t mean clothes), I mean without any sounds on…. so I can listen to the silence.  I often wonder if other people do the same thing.

Do we need to know every move that celebrities make?  Do we have to know on FB that people are cooking Spaghetti?  Do we need to know that celebrities are having babies, breaking up with their spouses, or eating at restaurants?  Have the news stations not figured out that celebrities are just like us, magnified?  I have so much respect for the actors that manage to keep their private lives out of the media. Do we need to get a text that someone is going to the mall or shopping? Can’t we just find out when they get back? Do we really need to get on the internet everyday, listen to the radio in the car, FB, text, twitter, Ipods…yada yada yada.

I think we should have a no more information day.  Everybody should turn the TV off, stay home from work, don’t answer the phone, don’t talk to anyone including who is in their house, and just sit around and not do a damn thing.  We could call it the N.M.I.   The No More Information day!  It’ll just be one day.  One.  Would it hurt anything if we did that? And, it has to be like… a Tuesday or something.  I’m gonna start now.

(silence)

Wait… my phone is ringing, the caller ID says mom…. Uh, I’ll start tomorrow.
