You can't make this stuff up, so we don't!

The Deceptive Life, by Q. Reyes – Artistic Warfare #46

Halloween is coming up, and really, who gives a damn. I don’t. Halloween comes every year and then it’s over. Just like Christmas and New Years. I stopped making new years’ resolutions. I got tired of saying, “this is my year”. That’s what everybody says and it’s not true. It’s never anyone’s year.

Life is funny that way. You live it, but you never really figure out why. You just wake up everyday and try to continue doing whatever it was you did the day before. That’s all. I wish there was more, but no, there’s not.

Optimistic people look at life as full of opportunity. Pessimistic people look at life as full of problems. People like me, though, look at life like it really doesn’t matter. It doesn’t. Damn if you do, damn if you don’t.

We sometimes think we can change life’s outcome, but that’s not possible. We all must die at some point and that’s all folks. You can try to live healthy, or not. You can try to live a good life, or not. You can create good karma, yet it all boils down that you will end one day.

These statements sound depressing to the weak mind, since everyone thinks they are special; but I’ve got news for you: You’re nothing but another human being living in a world where human beings have been living and dying for thousands of years. Your presence is not as important as you think.

The thing I love about life is how someone can live as if they’re good, but in the end they’re really bad. Or how someone manipulate situations in order to self-benefit, only ending up worse than if they didn’t do any manipulation.

I’m not good, but I’m not bad either. I have great intentions but horrible actions. I do lie sometimes, as most of us do. I break rules and laws all the time and I’m even judgmental most of the time. Yet, my question is, how can life be lived in so many different ways for any of those ways to be wrong?

Sure, I’ve had a few drinks before writing this, so my subconscious mind has no censorship or common sense, but my point is that life is mean to be lived however the hell we want. Not how the church wants us to live it, not how politicians want us to develop it, or how society deems to be appropriate.

I’m a believer in achieving fate through free will. You do what you can, and life will do what it will. The best thing to do is not to try to go against life’s current. Sure you’ll get problems and obstacles coming across your way, but bottom line, you have nothing to worry about, since we are all heading towards the same outcome. Don’t rush there. Take your time and enjoy life’s lies. I know I went deep on this one, but fuck you all. No one told you to read this whole thing.

I’m out.
