Creative Force, by Tatiana – In The Mix #39

After the dust settled from all my prep and work leading up to Comic Con 2009 in July, I had a light bulb moment. Upon returning from Comic Con and my art commission at Cannon Air Force Base I leapt steadily back into my work and set a series of meetings with my clients. Being in a state of inspiration and imagination, I was excited to make my clients visions and businesses come alive through my marketing and visual skills.
Being a highly driven and passionate person, when I get in this mode I’m practically unstoppable. Creativity and my imagination knows no limits. It lit up my face to see my clients get energized by my excitement and the possibilities ahead of them and their business. While I was in client meetings there were a few moments when I thought to myself- damn if only you were taking your own advice, your business would skyrocket!
In addition to the progress I shared in my “Sowing the Seeds” series, in the fall I attended an amazing business incubator, Incubator Intensive by the Ladies Who Launch. I was joined by Caren Magill, Monica Bloom, Janine Bielski, Marni Rosenthal Chaikin, Heidi Butzine, Tori Burak, and Jan McCarthy. These amazing professional women kept me motivated, accountable and inspired to take my business to the next level.
Excited to move my business and career forward, I consulted my wise mentor Michael “MOTU” Davis. I was struggling to think of a name that would capture my skill set, vision, and business style. Once I begin talking about the creative process, art, and marketing; I can become very passionate and can become quite a “Creative Force.” With that Creative Force Group and Creative Force Floral was born!
My company Creative Force Group brings creative flair and tech know how in an approachable manner, offering design for the web and print with business solutions. Many of the readers on the site know about my art and design background, but what you might not know about is my extensive experience in the floral design industry and why I started Creative Force Floral.
I’ve been doing high end, couture floral work for as long as I’ve been an artist and have trained with many of the industry leaders. Floral design combines all the aspects I enjoy about art making- vibrant colors, textures, sculpture and design. Working on floral design for events and weddings, also gives me a sense of instant gratification since there is a definite deadline with events. You either deliver amazing quality work or your screwed, there are no do overs- which is exciting for me while working among my art/design and web projects that can extend months and years.
So there! That’s what has consumed my time and energy the last four months. No beanie baby ebay store here Kevin!

“Being a highly driven and passionate person, when I get in this mode I’m practically unstoppable.”
Leaving aside the discussion of past lives (please), Shirley MacLaine once was quoted on something that really made an impression on me. She wrote a book in a relatively short time. When asked how she did it, her reply was along the lines of “I just stayed out of my own way.” I took this to mean she started the job, paid attention only to the job, and didn’t start worrying about if she could get the job done promptly or not; she just did it. She was ‘practically unstoppable’.
