Is It Just Me? , by Michael Davis – Straight No Chaser #161

Seriously?
Is it just me?
Is it just me that thinks we should make an example out of those ASSHOLE ‘pirates’ who have been terrorizing the open seas but this time picked on an American WARSHIP and got their asses KICKED and captured?
Is it just me that wants to see all these stupid motherfuckers shot in the head on TV?
There is plenty of video footage of these ‘pirates’ with big Kool-Aid smiles holding their guns in the air and being defiant to the world. Now, when some of them are caught they resort to looking meek and non-threatening.
Fuck that.
Lean these punks against a wall and play ‘catch a bullet’ with their heads. I am NOT kidding. Yes, I’m a Liberal, yes I know that they come from a horrible place and they are just trying to survive anyway the can.
Fuck that.
I came from a horrible place-when somebody in my family got any money we bought food or paid the rent. We did not buy an Uzi and car jack some anyone. NOBODY has the right to impose his or her will on anyone else.
Is it just me that thinks we should make an example out of these stupid kids AND their parents when they destroy someone’s home for kicks? Is it just me that thinks they should go to jail for 10 years and if they are under 18 their parents should be fiscally responsible?
Yes, I’m a Liberal; yes I know that kids do stupid things. I did some stupid things when I was a kid but my stupidity never destroyed anyone’s home for ‘fun.’ I knew the difference between right and wrong and so did these morons. I once took $10 dollars from my mother’s purse and knew it was wrong. To THIS DAY, I never told anyone about that. The only reason I’m mentioning it now is because my mother has NO idea that I have this website. With the shit I write and the FUCKING language I use do you think I’m CRAZY? Let me tell you something my mother has NO idea I rant like this. You know why? Because I want my mother to only think good things about me…duh.
It’s not my politics I’m concerned about it’s my language. To this day I don’t swear in front of my mother. These IDIOTS not only trashed this home then they went on Facebook and bragged about it. Is it just me that hopes they meet a guy in jail who makes them his bitch? Brag about that you pussies.
Is it just me that think that the GOP is out of their goddamn minds for NOT denouncing the Tea Bagger rhetoric?
Is it just me that thinks calling a black Congressman a NIGGER and a gay Congressman a FAGGOT a bad thing? Is it just me that thinks the GOP leadership should object to this in the strongest possible language?
Yes, I’m a Liberal; yes I know that freedom of speech is a right in this country but if I said “ Michael Steele is an Black Uncle Tom Nigger Asshole who should be hung up by his small dick.” It would be my right to say such things but if I was associated with any group that group should CLEARLY and QUICKLY come out and denounce me, unless they agreed with me. The leadership of the GOP in keeping silent seems to very much be agreeing with the Tea Baggers.
Let me be very clear, regarding what I said about Mr. Steele. It was just an example I was using; I do NOT think that he is Black.
Maybe it is just me, I hope not. As much smack as I talk I hope I’m not alone in my fear that the things mentioned above are just evil and should be met with clear no shit action from those who have simply had enough.
I don’t have all the answers and I can only speak for me. So speaking for me I’ll say this, if anyone shows this rant to my mother I will find you like Raid finds a roach and the results will be the same.

Hello? Mrs. Davis? Y’ain’t gonna BELIEVE this…
All groups have wackburger extremes that serve the general cause the group is after, but do it to a degree greater than the group can, could, or know they should do. So they don’t kill off (metaphorically) the wackburgers, and click their tongues at them when they do something really stupid, but if they should get something done that the group wanted, well, that’s just serendipity. There’s ever been claims that PeTA has connections to more radical organizations, the kind that blow up labs and the like. The Christians are always quick to denounce when a clinic gets blowed-up or abortion doctor gets shot, but it’s always with a wink and a wry smile. So the GOP’s party line has been one of Chris Rock’s… “I wouldn’t DO it…But I understand.” The GOP is falling back on “Hey, these are representative of what America is”, not grasping what a horrible thing that says about America, or what they THINK of America.
So yeah, the stuff the worst of the teabaggers have been doing and saying is downright embarassing. I know that it’s only the most vocal and frightened of them, I know there are lots of people that have valid qualms about the HCreform Act, and can spell. But thanks to the easy target the stupidest and loudest of them have made, it’s become SO easy for the Democrats to not have to discuss the issue at all. They can write the whole opposition off as “those kooks”. That’s not good for discourse. Al Gore does the same with Global Warming “deniers”.
Calm, rational debate is what is needed on any issue, not sign-waving and eye-rolling.
By the way, the new hot trend on the electric-type internet is “Teabonics” – collections of hilariously (and tragically) mis-spelt Tea party protest signs. There’s lots of places touting them, here’s one set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pargon/4469684254/in/photostream/

There is a lot to be said for the use of extremism as an organizing technique. It worked for the Nazis in the 1930s, it worked for us Yippies! in the late 60s. Within a couple years of such extreme behavior, Germany was a Nazi state trying to take over the world and, later, the U.S. had made the swing from militant anti-communism to anti-Vietnam war. So I take the tea baggers very seriously.
At the least — and I mean this in all its dreadful seriousness — locally, in small groups, the tea baggers have the makings of a fine ol’ lynch party. Nationally, they’d have to agree on an agenda. Right now that’s not in the cards; you’d be hard-pressed to find a more disparate group of people. But they can get it together over those many elements they, in their paranoid irrational fervor, agree upon.
And I do think Chairman Steele is black. You’ll find this out in December or January, when he’s unemployed.

I think it is a foolish tactic to declare Michael Steele not to be black. It suggests that a black man must fit into narrow parameters to be black: He isn’t “a Man,” but “a Black Man.” That may not chafe very much as long as you are the one who delimits blackness: It will hurt quite a bit if someone else gets to do it.
Michael Steele is a man. He is a Black man. He is a Black man who is also an embarrassingly bad politician and thinker, but that says no more about black men as a whole than the fact that Lincoln Rockwell was white says anything about white men.

What tickles me the most over this? How most of these people are uninformed. The anger is just mongered and doled out, and then the most educated one in the bunch evangelises, and poof! Instant lynch mob. Sad, just sad.
In a country where Sarah Palin, even for a second, could be considered a viable candidate for the office of President… In a country where Glenn Beck cries for attention and has genuine fans and believers… In a country where we build a Library for GW, and let him be a motivational speaker? Well… that’s our America now, ain’t it. Hitch up you britches, it’s time for a cross burnin’. Them liberal pinko commies gonna tax me back into the stone ages to make national health care… Over my red neck, white skin, and blue blood!

Jeffrey’s reference to George Lincoln Rockwell (yep, that’s his real name) is very significant and timely. I suspect a lot of folks who have yet to walk or crawl this Earth for the better part of a half-century aren’t familiar with him other than maybe his name, and maybe is portrayal by Marlon Brando (!) in the Roots sequel. A clever, crafty man who is the very definition of an inciter whose work lives on and has grown massively long after his death — or, in this case, assassination — in 1967. The founding father of the American Nazis and White Power, his efforts gave birth to the current militia movements.
One of those rare cases where I actually recommend Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Lincoln_Rockwell

Now that I think of it, Jeffrey’s point is a point I’ve made myself about…me.
I’ve said and will no doubt say in the future some really asinine things. But when I’m wrong I own up to it. I was WAY wrong by saying Steele is not black.
I’ve been called non black because of my views sometimes. I’ve been called a nigger because I have an over the top personality. I’ve been called ‘lucky’ because of some things I’ve been able to accomplish. I’ve been called a coon, a clown, an Uncle Tom you name it I’ve been called it by some black people. In fact someone called my entire Black Panel at Comic Con last year niggerpalooza ON LINE!!
So-I’m the last person who should be denying someone’s Blackness for whatever reason and Jeff thanks for pointing that out.
Steele’s still a dick 😉

And just days later this occurs…
Suspected pirates take shots at U.S. ship
People on a skiff shot at the USS Ashland approximately 330 nautical miles off the coast of Djibouti.
The Ashland shot back, the U.S. Fifth Fleet said. The skiff caught fire and the people abandoned the skiff.
The Ashland deployed rigid-hull inflatable boats to assist the six suspected pirates in the water near their skiff. They were brought on board the Ashland and received medical care.
There were no injuries to the Ashland crew and no apparent damage to the ship, the U.S. Fifth Fleet said.
