Epoch #1 – McCarthy Comics #134

Who would win in a fight, a vampire or a werewolf? This is something that’s been debated since there have been stories about vampires and werewolves. And witches. And trolls. How about a sexy gorgon vs. an even sexier banshee? Or the conflict that started it all, angels against demons. I’m happy to report that these debates will continue anew in the pages of EPOCH.
And that’s it. We could have stopped there. A supernatural FIGHT CLUB? Boom. SOLD. That’s a kick-ass book! But if you’ve read HVE’s other title TRACKER, then you already know that with EPOCH you’ll be getting more bang for your comic-book buck. You’re getting New York City Police Detective JONAH WRIGHT charged with solving a string of bizarre murders that has already claimed the life of his partner, and threatens to (as Jonah slowly puts two and two, and clue and clue together) draw him into a dark underworld from which he can never return.
EPOCH draws you, the reader, into that dark underworld as well. And along the way, you’ll get a police procedural, an inter-species love triangle, and a training sequence worthy of ROCKYs I, II, & III. And then there’s the fighting. Eight supernatural races. Eight fighting styles and disciplines. One goal. To be the baddest bastard and the last one standing.
In an era of wimpy wizards, mopey vampires and emo werewolves, EPOCH brings explosive action and more action. Hit first, and ask questions later! Who would win in a fight, a vampire or a werewolf, a detective or a demon? With EPOCH, the answer is, we ALL win.
But don’t take my word for it, check out Newsarama, Comic Book Resources, Bleeding Cool, and USA Today for more details.
