Those of you who are long time readers of my words of wisdom are well aware of my fear of flying. I hate to fly more than the Tea Party hates Obama. I also have a fear of natural disasters such as twisters, earthquakes, and hurricanes. Anything which I am powerless against really freaks me out totally.
So why did I fly to Connecticut on the eve of the worst hurricane since Katrina? Which is due to hit Connecticut within the next 24 hours. Because my cousin Nila is getting married, that’s why. I never get on a plane these days unless somebody is writing me a check.
Truth be told, if Nila had stubbed her toe, I would have gotten on the plane for something as little as that. She is more like a sister to me than a cousin. Nila is my heart and there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her. Including risking death by air travel and again by hurricane.
In honor of Nila’s day, there will be no fire and brimstone rant from me this week. Instead I am going to ask my readers to wish Nila a happy life with her new husband who I actually like. (I know that is so unlike me) Congratulations Nila, I love you and I’m proud to welcome John in to our family.

Soooooo- my flight back to LA has been canceled. That on any other day would have made mr freaking NUTS!
Not today.
Nope-all that means is I get to spend another day with my new family.
All is right in the world.

Does this mean you’re already East? Because we can’t get out of the city and go to Florida like we planned for John’s birthday, so perhaps we could see you?
