As the year comes to a close, I took a trip down memory lane and reread my articles of 2010. It was interesting to pick up on the recurring themes of the year. There was a lot of analogies of the night and Disneyland. But the bigger string that carried through all the articles is they were about ME.

Granted my column is focused on my journey as an artist and entrepreneur, but I had quite the year of introspection. Last year my articles had a very different tone, I shared anecdotes from my childhood and tied them to current events and topical situations encountered by many.

What I was missing was a connection to others, I was wrapped up in artistic masturbation. I wrote to satisfy my needs but didn’t connect my stories with others. In the last few months I’ve recognized the importance of including others in my life, feelings, agony, joy, pain, excitement, ecstasy, and creative process.

As much as love my independence, I feed off of the energy of others and get charged by the mental, physical and emotional stimulation.

Without that I wouldn’t be me and I thank you all for being apart of that connection. Plus with all the gloom and doom in my last few articles, I wanted to send myself into the New Year with a Happy Ending. 🙂
