The Weakness of Wealth by Q. Reyes – Artistic Warfare #97

This is a story about two sisters: Wisdom and Wealth. A lot of us have a desire to acquire Wealth and we want her to be our best friend. We want Wealth to be by our side all the time, every day. Wealth is fun and always has a plan to keep her lovers entertained. She is also extraordinarily beautiful, and everyone can recognize her beauty from a very young age.
However, Wealth is awfully elusive, and even if you find her, she’s very hard to keep. She’s sneaky and will abandon you for the next lover without remorse. Wealth’s high demand keeps the competition fierce. Some people have been known to pursuit Wealth all their lives without ever seeing a glimpse.
On the other hand, Wisdom is not as popular as Wealth, yet she’s well respected. Wisdom is not as glamorous as Wealth, but she is honest and truthful. Wisdom is deep and intense, while Wealth is shallow and superficial. To get Wisdom takes time and patience, while Wealth promises she’s just around the corner.
Regardless of how much power Wealth can achieve, she will always have one weakness: Jealousy. Wealth is extremely jealous of her sister Wisdom and does whatever it takes to take away Wisdom’s lovers. Wealth distracts followers of Wisdom with shiny things and empty promises of happiness.
Yet, in reality, the secret to having Wealth, it’s to not pay any attention to her. Pay all your attention to her sister Wisdom, instead. Once you and Wisdom are together, Wealth will follow you both.
The irony is that once you get to know Wisdom, you realize you don’t need Wealth at all.

Q –
Wow! Speaking of wealth, this is a RICH treatise. It needs to be savored and re-visited.
Thanks! My brain and soul needed this.

Q,
Very nicely said; but I’m shallow, I want both now. 🙂
